Ong Jimenez-Ducrocq, prior to her assignment as Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Philippines to ASEAN in Jakarta, was Assistant Secretary for the Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs, and was also Chair-Alternate for the Technical Cooperation Council of the Philippines (TCCP). She was previously assigned as Minister for Political and Security Affairs at the Philippine Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, with concurrent jurisdiction to Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. Her previous assignments included the Philippine Embassy in Beijing, China, where she served as Deputy Chief of Mission and Consul-General, with concurrent jurisdiction over Mongolia and the DPRK. She earlier served at the Philippine Embassy in London as Political Officer. Her home office assignments included the Office of Asian and Pacific Affairs, the Office of European Affairs, and the Office of the Undersecretary for International Economic Relations. She joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in June 1997. She is a graduate of Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Philosophy. A distinguished career diplomat from the 1994 cohort, he has held various strategic positions within Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly in multilateral cooperation and ASEAN-related affairs. His international assignments include postings at the Indonesian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada, and the Permanent Mission of Indonesia to the United Nations, WTO, and other international organizations in Geneva. He has also served as Deputy Director for ASEAN Political Affairs and later as Director for ASEAN Dialogue Partners and Inter-Regional Cooperation. His diplomatic career further includes his role as Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indonesian Embassy in Canberra, Australia, and Head of the Center for Partnership Facilitation and International Organisations at the Ministry of Transportation. Ambassador Derry possesses extensive experience in bilateral, regional, and global cooperation, including ASEAN mechanisms, UN global conferences, UN-ESCAP, WTO negotiations, and international trade and connectivity partnerships. He has also contributed as a member of the Indonesian National Committee for the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2011 and 2023.
