Atul Mehta is the COO of Shiprocket, India’s largest e-commerce enablement platform. He’s the man who has been ensuring those seamless deliveries from the nooks and crannies of India to other nooks and crannies in India, connecting consumers with businesses, one parcel at a time.
As the COO, he commandeers the logistics platform in India spearheading sales, account management, operations and seller experience.
Atul believes that efficiency in the supply chain and seamless customer operations are the cornerstones of any successful e-commerce venture. Building on that, under his leadership, Shiprocket Shipping has achieved remarkable growth in building the post checkout operating system for Indian merchants – right from shipment creation to delivery, providing real-time tracking updates at every stage, partnering with over 25 courier services, introducing shipping experience solutions to help merchants reduce shipping costs by 20%, and minimize return-related losses by 35%. Atul Mehta’s leadership has not only fueled Shiprocket’s impressive growth but has also set new standards for efficiency and cost-effectiveness as the e-commerce enabler of BHARAT.
Atul also works with the founding team to drive innovation and build long-term strategies for the organization. He has been playing a key role in expanding the government ONDC initiative by enabling Shiprocket sellers to sell on ONDC, launching new innovations like Drone Delivery, and launching solutions to help merchants scale and grow in today’s competitive environment.
Atul has over 18 years of experience and has held prominent roles at well-known firms throughout his career. Before arriving at Shiprocket, he was leading Amazon Pantry, the pan India online grocery program for Amazon, and played a fundamental role in augmenting the Amazon Pantry from a single city to a pan-India programme. He was also a senior executive at Unilever, where he was at the helm of multiple roles across sales and brand marketing.
Atul is a proud alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, where he did his B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering. He also has a PGDM in marketing management from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata.
Atul is on a mission to take Direct Commerce from ~10% to 30% of total e-commerce by building the right ecosystem of growth for the Indian SMB merchant, and in that process establish Shiprocket as the leading tech platform in India and international markets.
Atul is married to Charulatha, an ISB alum and author of Beaming Child Series, a children’s book series. They have 2 daughters aged 12 and 9. Atul is an avid sports person, having represented his college in multiple racquet sports.
