Gerald Wang is currently Senior Director with the WW Public Sector- Government team in Microsoft. Within the government industry, he specializes in Public Finance (Tax, Customs, Audit/Compliance, Public Wealth Management, etc.), Smart Cities, and WOG (Whole-of-Govt) governance frameworks. His technology interests span from AI to Cybersecurity, IoT, Digital Twins & Metaverse, and Sustainability.

Previously, he was the Director and Head of the Asia Pacific Public Sector programs at IDC. Gerald was also the founder of IDC’s Smart Cities awards (SCAPA), which began in 2013. As an ex-civil servant at the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA, current-day GovTech) and IDA International, Gerald has spent over 20 years assisting various Public Sector agencies realize their multi-year technology investment outcomes through research and consulting in policy creation, technology masterplans, and innovation initiatives.

He is experienced in agile change management and innovation-based advisories and has extensive public speaking experience across several global Public Sector events. He also partners with NGOs on topics such as digital government, digital public goods, cities 4.0, and public policy change initiatives.
